Our Advertising Policy
Data Privacy Tools does not accept advertising, sponsored content, or paid placements of any kind. No banner ads, no sponsored reviews, no “brought to you by” sections, no native advertising disguised as editorial content.
Why Not
We review data protection tools – DLP solutions, privacy compliance platforms, identity management systems, and governance infrastructure. The people reading our content are making purchasing decisions that affect their organization’s security posture and regulatory compliance. They need to trust that what they are reading is an honest assessment, not a paid endorsement wearing editorial clothing.
Advertising creates conflicts of interest. Even when editorial and advertising teams operate independently, the perception of influence is enough to undermine credibility. In a market where vendors routinely sponsor the “independent” analysts who evaluate them, we think there is value in being straightforward about not playing that game.
How We Fund This
We use affiliate links. When you click through to a vendor’s site from our reviews and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. This model means we get paid when our recommendations lead to actual purchases – which only works if our recommendations are trustworthy. The incentive structure aligns with editorial honesty rather than against it.

We will evaluate it using the same methodology we apply to everything else. No guarantees of coverage, no guarantees of favorable coverage, and absolutely no payment involved.
